Ed Ruark, President

Ed attended the Florida Institute of Technology, and graduated from the University of South Florida, College of Engineering. Prior to creating Ruark Construction & Engineering (RCE), Ed was a partner and Vice President of The Perry Company (1993-2000) and held the position of Assistant Vice President of Engineering Services for R.R. Simmons Construction (1987-1993).

As a registered Professional Engineer and Class A General Contractor, Ed's responsibilities include all phases of schematic drawing and construction document delivery, project scheduling, and overall project engineering design and coordination, technical assistance for industrial and manufacturing clients in all aspects of material, production flow and plant layout as prime professional. He has routinely produced computer aided design drawings for industrial plants, office programming and space planning.

Ed is a past President of the Florida Engineering Society Tampa Chapter, past chairman of the Ethics Committee, and is an active member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, Oldsmar Chamber of Commerce, past Commodore of Davis Island Yacht Club, and current President of the Nathan B. Stubblefield Foundation, license holder for WMNF 88.5 a Tampa community radio station. He is a graduate of Leadership USF (class of 1992) and Leadership Hillsborough (class of 1996).
Tom Szikszay, Vice President/Construction Services

Tom began his construction career as an apprentice with the Sheet Metal Union Local 533 in Flint, Michigan, in 1973. His construction experience includes all aspects of design/build mechanical contracting - equipment installation, ductwork, and fabrication. Tom relocated to Florida in 1985, joining Carrier as a sales engineer. He worked directly with engineers and contractors selecting and specifying equipment for their projects. In 1990, he joined a major HVAC contractor in Tampa, leading their design/build division.

In 1995, Tom started IC Mechanical. He designed, sold and installed systems for manufacturing, dust collection, clean rooms, chilled water systems and process equipment for Johnson & Johnson, Essilor Optical, Bausch & Lomb, Pepperidge Farms, Cardinal Health (R.P. Scherer, N.A.), Smith Nephew Pharmaceuticals, and Reynolds Aluminum. Tom has designed and installed HVAC systems in Florida, California, Mexico, Minnesota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania and Texas.

Tom’s wide array of experience in all aspects of construction and ultimate focus on the customer provides I/C Mechanical and Florida Process Piping with a focus on customer satisfaction and follow through. Tom is a member of the Florida Gulf Coast Chapter Associated Building Contractors, (ABC).
